James Maddison nominated for EFL Young Player of the Season

James Maddison has been nominated for the EA Sports Sky Bet Championship Young Player of the Season and named in the Championship Team of the Year.

The City midfielder has had a superb season in yellow and green scoring 13 times in the league and proving a key player for Daniel Farke’s side.

A number of his goals have proved to be matchwinners, with strikes at Middlesbrough, Ipswich Town, Bristol City, Brentford and at home to Millwall all being decisive on the day.

He also bagged his first senior hat-trick in the 4-3 defeat at Hull City as well as winning the Sky Bet Goal of the Month award twice for his superb strikes at Reading and Brentford.

Maddison is up against Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham) and Ruben Neves (Wolves) with the winner being announced at a ceremony in London on Sunday, April 15.

In the Team of the Year, Maddison has been named in midfield alongside Neves and Tom Cairney.
