Club to pay tribute to Ray Wilkins on Saturday

5 April 2018

Norwich City and Aston Villa will pay their respects to the late Ray Wilkins when the sides meet at Carrow Road in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday (12:30pm).

Wilkins, who worked as Assistant Manager of Villa in 2015, passed away earlier this week at the age of 61.

A technically-gifted midfielder during his playing days, Wilkins represented the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Milan and Paris Saint-Germain while also amassing 84 England caps across a ten-year international career.

After spells in charge of Fulham and Queens Park Rangers, he went on to work as a coach for numerous teams before moving into punditry.

As a mark of respect, both teams will wear black armbands for this weekend's fixture.

There will also be a minute of applause prior to kick-off in recognition of Wilkins' considerable impact on the game.
