Onel Hernandez will be available for City’s match against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday at Carrow Road (kick-off 3pm).
Hernandez missed out on last week’s win over Rotherham United due to an injury with his hamstring, but is back sooner than expected.
City boss Daniel Farke said: “We expected him [Onel Hernandez] to not be back this week, but he is and he has been back in training for the last few days.”
However the game will come too soon for Moritz Leitner who remains out with a calf injury which has saw him miss City’s games against Rotherham United and Hull City.
“We can’t involve Moritz Leitner, there is no chance of him playing. It was a surprise because we were convinced he could go again this week, but there’s still longer to wait for him to return because he still has problems with his calf.”
City won 3-1 at Carrow Road last time out but despite some slight knocks Farke said they don't have any new injury scares for Saturday.
The City boss also provided an update on a few of City’s long-term absences, Kenny McLean and Louis Thompson.
“Kenny McLean is looking forward to coming back to team training tomorrow, and will train with the Under-23s.
“Hopefully, if everything goes okay then he will be able to play for them against Wolfsburg on Thursday. I’m looking forward to having him back.
“Louis Thompson is back doing some stuff on the pitch, he is working on some technical drills but he will still be out for a few weeks.”
