Timm Klose is a major doubt for Norwich City’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
Klose has been influential for the Canaries over recent weeks but a slight hamstring problem could rule him out of contention for a place in Daniel Farke’s matchday squad at the weekend.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Farke said: “There is a big question mark over Timm Klose. He is very doubtful for tomorrow [Saturday].
“He has had problems with his hamstring so we will make a pretty late decision. When you have many games, three in six days, the games have come a bit too quick.
“It’s a small problem but we have options. Sean Raggett can come in and even Alex Tettey can play the role, or we could change formation.
“Both options are possible. It’s not so easy for Sean and Alex to come in and adapt immediately. I’m not too concerned because we are comfortable with both formations and flexible to change."
Farke delivered positive news on the fitness of Ivo Pinto who had been absent from the last few games.
“Ivo is much better,” he said. “He’s not ready for the starting line-up but has been training with us and will come back into the squad.
“We need his experience and we could bring him on. It’s great to have his leadership back.”
The match with Bolton marks City’s third match in six days but, apart from Klose, Farke said he has no new injury concerns coming out of the Wolves game in midweek.
“The lads have taken some hits. It was the first game in three weeks for Mario Vrancic and he had some cramp but he is not too bad.
“Moritz Leitner was really tired but has been in the ice bath over the last two days so he’s been able to recreate.
“All in all, things aren’t too bad. We aren’t totally fresh for tomorrow but it’s no excuse. Bolton have had a lot of load as well.”
Farke rounded off his injury update by adding that Matt Jarvis could potentially feature for the Under-23s in their Premier League Cup match with Bury on Monday.
