Daniel Farke says City will be heading to Bristol City to take three points away from Ashton Gate.
The Robins sit in fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship, but have lost their last four games – although two of those have come against Premier League opposition with defeats to Watford in the Emirates FA Cup and Manchester City in the Carabao Cup.
Norwich are unbeaten in their last four matches, and Farke wants to keep the good run going despite admitting it’s been a tough week with the departure of Alex Pritchard and the injury to Tom Trybull.
“We felt really good after Chelsea, but it’s been a hard week with injury problems and the selling of Alex,” Farke told the press on Friday lunchtime. “But our focus is to go to Bristol and win points. I really trust my lads and we know we can be competitive and to have a fifth unbeaten game in a row.”
Farke thinks Bristol City’s late defeat to Manchester City in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final could have an impact either way on Saturday.
“The game against Manchester City could help us, but it’s speculating. Sometimes you can get a lot of self-confidence from that kind of game, but there is also a lot of pressure on them because their recent results in the league haven’t been so good.
“They’re 100% one of the teams of the season so far, but they’ll want to get points on the board to turn their form around. We’ll be going there to put in a good performance and to try to win the game.”
