Daniel Farke is looking forward to working with young attacking midfielder Marcus Edwards, who has joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.

Edwards, 19, was part of the England squad that won the European Under-19 Championship last summer, and is Norwich City’s first signing of the January transfer window.

“Marcus has got a very good education at Tottenham and is rated as one of the biggest talents in English football,” says Farke. “He is a young player with huge potential and is unbelievably talented.

“He is able to cover several positions in our attack, and because of his technique, creativity and ability to win one-against-one situations he offers us new opportunities. We are happy that he gives us new options in our offence.”

His move to Norwich marks his first loan spell away from Spurs, who he joined when he was just seven, and Farke says this means there needs to be patience while Edwards settles.

“He will need some time to adapt to a new surrounding and the physical game in the Championship. We will give him all of our support to do this,” says Farke.

“But he seems to fit our possession style really well and we hope he can help us pretty soon. Again, it's a sign of our way to work with young and talented players. It is also a good sign that such a highly rated club like Tottenham Hotspur chose Norwich as the best opportunity for Marcus to develop.”
