Moritz Leitner says he can’t wait to start playing after joining Norwich City on loan from FC Augsburg until the end of the season.
Midfielder Leitner, who won the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund in 2012, says he’s looking forward to playing football at Carrow Road.
“I’m really happy to be here,” Leitner, 25, told canaries.co.uk. “I just want to help this team, and I’m glad to be coming to a big team. I just want to play football and help the team on the pitch.
“I’ve heard it’s an amazing stadium with amazing fans. I can’t wait to start; I want to start playing now!
“Maybe I’ll have to wait a little bit, but I can’t wait to feel the atmosphere in the stadium and on the pitch and for sure I want to celebrate with the team, the club and the fans.”
Leitner has previously worked under City boss Daniel Farke in the Under-23s at Borussia Dortmund, and is looking forward to reuniting with him.
“I know him, he knows me,” Leitner said. “I’m just happy because I know what he can do. He knows how I play football and how I can help this club.
“I hope me and the whole team can play really good football for Daniel. The football he likes to play really suits me.”
Leitner, who has captained Germany Under-21s, says he can’t wait for his first taste of English football.
“England is an amazing football country,” he said. “Every player wants to play in England and now I have a chance.
“For every player it’s amazing to play football here, and I just want to start as soon as I can. I want to play football. I love playing, and I just want to play with my new teammates and for my new club and I hope I can get out there soon. I can’t wait to start.”
