Matt Gill says 'a moment of quality' proved decisive on Monday night as Norwich City's Under-23s edged to a 1-0 home triumph over Bournemouth in the Premier League Cup.
With the match looking set to end in stalemate, Todd Cantwell drilled home superbly from outside the box with injury-time looming to steal the points.
"It was probably one of the few moments of quality in the game," Gill told the media afterwards.
"Louis McIntosh put a nice weight on the pass and Todd took it on. His talent came to the fore in the end and got us a win.
"The performance was a battling one. I spoke to the lads after the game and said grinding out a 1-0 win when you're not playing well are attributes they will need in the future.
"We'll take whatever learning we can from the game."
The fixture also saw welcome returns from injury for Harry Toffolo and Savvas Morgous, with the former displaying his seniority during a 45-minute outing.
"Harry has trained with us for three of the past four days," Gill added.
"He needed some minutes under his belt so it was good to give him 45. It's a continuation of his return to fitness and to playing.
"He's made a lot of Football League appearances now, so was excellent for us. He's been very vocal, helping the lads through training and also the game.
"I'm just pleased to see him and Savvas back out on the grass."
