Norwich City’s Russell Martin has joined Rangers on loan until the end of the season.
Club captain Martin, 32, joined Norwich from Peterborough permanently in January 2010 after an initial loan spell. He has been involved in three promotions with City and has 308 appearances for the Canaries, scoring 17 goals. He is 22nd on Norwich’s all-time appearances list, which includes 125 appearances in the Premier League – a Club record.
“I’m thankful for all of Russ's support, right from the first minute I arrived here,” says Daniel Farke. “Sadly he’s struggled with some little injuries in recent weeks and he hasn’t had many minutes, so it’s a sign of our respect for all that he’s done for this Club that we were very willing to speak to him and respect his wish to make this loan move to one of the Scottish giants.
“He has an unbelievable working attitude, and he has been brilliant for the lads. There have been some tough times for him when he hasn’t been in the team, but he was still there with a lot of support and help. I’m happy for him that he now has this honour to get this loan move to a big club, and in the summer he will return to Norwich.”
Everyone at Norwich City would like to wish Russ all of the best for the rest of the season.
