Matt Gill says the new faces in his Under-23s side have settled in "fantastically well".
City's new-look Development Squad kicked off their pre-season schedule with a 2-1 victory over Paderborn's Under-23s on Sunday.
The likes of Tom Scully, Caleb Richards, Ciaren Jones and Josh Coley (trialist) made their first appearances in a yellow and green shirt and Gill has been delighted with how they've seamlessly bedded into the squad.
"We have a young team again this year and there has been lots of information given to them already," said Gill.
"We've worked a lot on tactics during this pre-season so far alongside the physical work and it's been important to mix the two.
"The new lads settled in fantastically well. With the loan business getting done early this year, it allows our group to be a bit more settled.
"I think the group will stick together this year and that will put us in a good position going forward."
Gill's team took on Paderborn's youngsters in warm conditions at the Club's training ground, with an own goal and Anthony Spyrou strike being enough to kickstart the Canaries' season preparations with a victory.
"It was a good test for them," he continued. "Paderborn came out of the blocks quickly and settled better than us, but we had a good team shape out of possession.
"Once the game settled, we tried to keep ball better. The one bit of good play led to our goal after great work down left-hand side.
"Caleb put an excellent ball in and Adam Idah did well to force a mistake from the defender.
"We used the ball a bit better in the second-half and Anthony Spyrou, who came on, gave us a real threat going forward with his power and pace.
"Again, Caleb put in a great cross and Ant finished emphatically so all-in-all, it was a great performance against a competitive team."
