Ben Marshall is looking forward to competing for a starting place at Norwich City after joining the club on a four-year-deal.
“It’s always healthy to have competition. There are some good players and it’s down to me personally to get in the team and stay there,” said Marshall, speaking to canaries.co.uk.
“It’s a good feeling [to sign]. It’s nice to come and see the training ground and meet a few of the lads already so I feel very good.
“I heard about the interest this summer. When I heard about it, I was very excited and I wanted it to be pushed through.
“The club is massive. Playing against them for other clubs, obviously the fans are always sold out.
“The dressing rooms are smart and it looks like it’s all been done up. The pitches look really good as well.
Marshall sought advice from City players past and present before making his decision to move to Carrow Road.
“I spoke to Grant [Hanley], John Ruddy and Benno [Ryan Bennett] and they all spoke really highly of the club. After hearing that, it was a bonus.
“I was on the bench for Wolves against Norwich last season. It’s a passing side and they looked exciting and have got some good players.
“Keeping the ball is part and parcel of the game and having a lot of possession helps. I’m really looking forward to the way the gaffer wants to play.
“I’m really looking forward to training hard. It’s nice to get in quite early, previous times I’ve come in quite late and sort of had to pick up.
“I’m looking forward to touching a ball again. It’s been a month or so it’ll be nice to get a few training sessions under my belt.”
