Adam Idah scored the Republic of Ireland's opening goal as they got their UEFA Euro Under-17 Championship Elite Round campaign underway with a 3-0 win over Macedonia.
Ireland made it through to the Elite Round by beating Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Bulgaria in the Qualifying Round, with Idah scoring seven times during those matches, the highest of any European player.
The City hotshot carried on his great form for club and country on Wednesday, helping the Boys in Green begin the Elite Round with a routine victory.
Idah rolled home the first from the penalty spot before goals from Sean Brennan and Tyriek Wright completed a 3-0 victory in Poland.
Ireland faces two more matches in Group 3 with only the winners of the group making it through to Finals which take place in England in the summer.
Next up for Idah and Ireland is Georgia on Saturday, March 24 at 4.30pm (local time).
