Daniel Farke believes Reading will pose a different sort of threat to Norwich City compared to some of his side’s recent assignments at Carrow Road.
City have drawn their last two home matches without scoring, coming up against Bolton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest - sides who chose to sit deep and defend.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Farke said: “Reading are a team who fights against relegation at the moment and we have to be honest - they do it in a different style because they like to dominate games.
“They like to keep possession and play football and before the season started, you would say they would be fighting for promotion rather than relegation.
“It’s a good proof of how tough the league is. They have many players with a high individual class, especially in the offensive areas."
Therefore, the City boss has called on his team to be patient and concentrated with and without the ball.
“It will be important that we are able to be patient when Reading have possession,” he continued. “In this game, it’s important not to lose nerves and be concentrated when they have the ball.
“We need to be concentrated when we have the ball and make the most of our counter attacks.
“In the last home games, we had to find a solution against teams who sit back and enjoy defending.
“It will be perhaps the same case in this game but I think also we are patient enough and to wait for the right moment.”
