Norwich City take on Reading in the Sky Bet Championship at Carrow Road on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
Reading’s visit will be their first to Norfolk since their 7-1 drubbing at the hands of the Canaries last season.
Here’s our guide to what City can expect at the weekend:
It’s been a difficult season so far for Reading with Modou Barrow and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (pictured below) carrying the burden of being the Royals' main goal threat.
Gambia international Barrow joined the club from Swansea City in July 2017, having had short loan spells at Nottingham Forest, Blackburn Rovers and Leeds United over recent seasons.
Barrow is currently having his best goalscoring season to date in England scoring nine times so far and is also a real threat from wide areas with his pace.
Bodvarsson moved to the Madejski Stadium from Wolves in the summer and, like Barrow, is enjoying his best season in England having scored seven league goals so far.
Reading also have plenty of experience within their ranks with players like Sone Aluko, Paul McShane, Tommy Elphick and Chris Martin having played many times in the EFL over recent years.
Reading are on a wretched run of form in the league, having only won once in their last 17 matches.
That win came over Burton Albion on January 30 and the Royals’ current run has seen them slip deep into a relegation battle.
In their last five matches, Reading have drawn three and lost twice and a serious upturn in form is needed if last season’s Championship play-off finalists are to avoid the drop.
On February 24, Stam’s men drew 3-3 at home to Derby County with Bodvarsson scoring a late equaliser but they couldn’t quite back that admirable performance up in their next match when they lost 3-1 to Sheffield United.
A huge relegation clash with Bolton Wanderers followed but Reading could only draw 1-1 with the Trotters before once again being held at home, this time against Leeds United.
Reading were comfortably beaten by Wolves in their last match by three goals to nil, leaving them in 19th position just six points off the bottom three.
The two sides last met on September 30 with City looking to extend their unbeaten run to six league matches and pick up their fourth consecutive victory on the road.
James Maddison put City ahead on ten minutes with a superb free-kick but Liam Moore got the Royals level moments later.
Cameron Jerome got the Canaries back in-front shortly after half-time, heading home at the far post.
And City managed to hold out for the win despite having Marley Watkins sent off in stoppage-time.
The result moved Daniel Farke’s side up to ninth in the Championship and left Jaap Stam’s men just a point above the relegation zone.
