Klinsmann, Maicon and Karagounis to play at Carrow Road!

27 March 2018

Legendary German striker Jurgen Klinsmann, Brazilian international Maicon, and Euro 2004 winner Giorgos Karagounis have been added to the Inter Forever squad for the upcoming match with Norwich City Legends at Carrow Road.

You can buy tickets for the match HERE.

Klinsmann, one of the most iconic names in world football, won the 1990 World Cup and 1996 European Championships, and was the first player to score three or more goals in three consecutive World Cups.

His club career with Inter Milan and German giants Bayern Munich saw him lift two UEFA Cups, a Supercoppa Italiana, and a Bundesliga title, as well as enjoying two memorable spells in England with Tottenham Hotspur.

Klinsmann becomes the second World Cup-winner to be added to the Inter Forever squad alongside Marco Materazzi, who scored in Italy’s 2006 World Cup final win over France.

Like many who have pulled on the blue and black of Inter Milan, Brazilian Maicon’s list of domestic honours makes impressive reading.

During his six years at the San Siro, the Nerazzuri won four Serie A titles, two Coppa Italias, and the 2009-10 Champions League, as well as three Supercoppa Italianas and a FIFA World Club Championship.

Many fans will also remember his goal from a seemingly impossible angle in Brazil’s 2010 World Cup win over North Korea.

Giorgos Karagounis was an instrumental figure in Greece’s fairytale European Championships success in 2004.

He scored the tournament’s opening goal with a spectacular long-range effort that stunned hosts Portugal and was the catalyst for one of international football’s most unlikely underdog stories.

Karagounis won silverware with Inter Milan and Panathinaikos that included a Coppa Italia, Greek Cup, and Superleague Greece title.

The match against Inter Forever is proudly supported by club Community Partner Aviva and will raise funds to build the Community Sports Foundation’s new hub, ‘The Nest’.

It will mark 25 years since Mike Walker’s Canaries made a memorable run to the third round of the UEFA Cup in 1993.

Already confirmed to appear for the Italian giants are legendary 'keeper Francesco Toldo, Javier Zanetti, and 1993 squad member Nicola Berti with new additions to be announced very shortly.

Canaries players confirmed for Norwich City Legends so far are Bryan Gunn, Darren Huckerby, Adam Drury, Chris Sutton, Iwan Roberts, Grant Holt, Mark Bowen, Rob Newman, Daryl Sutch, Paul McVeigh, Robert Ullathorne and John Polston
