Christoph Zimmermann will miss Norwich City’s trip to Hull City on Saturday in the Sky Bet Championship due to illness.
Zimmermann only featured on the bench for City in Tuesday’s draw with Nottingham Forest after missing training due to private problems but after suffering from a bout of sickness since that game, the centre-back is unavailable for the trip to the KC Stadium.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Farke said: “Christoph Zimmermann has been suffering with sickness. He wasn’t 100% comfortable on our last matchday.
“He hasn’t been able to eat much over the last few days so there is no chance for him to play tomorrow.”
James Maddison has also been suffering from illness but Farke hopes his young playmaker will recover in time for Saturday.
“We have small concerns about James,” added Farke. “He hasn’t felt comfortable over the last couple of days.
“He will travel with us though and hopefully doesn’t have the same illness as Christoph. He didn’t have a temperature today and trained so hopefully he’s available.”
Matt Jarvis made his return to action for the Under-23s on Wednesday night after a lengthy spell on the sidelines but the winger was withdrawn after 20 minutes through injury.
However, Farke said the problem isn’t too concerning: “It’s just a reaction of the muscle. After being away for two years, it’s quite normal that the body has to adapt to training and games.
“He’s out for five days and he will be back to training soon.”
Farke also revealed that Portuguese-duo Ivo Pinto and Nelson Oliveira are available for selection for the Hull match. Pinto has missed the last couple of months through injury and the birth of his first child, whereas Oliveira missed the midweek draw at Carrow Road.
The City Boss also said that Marco Stiepermann won’t return until after the international break after undergoing hernia surgery.
