Nelson Oliveira could make an early return for Norwich City on Saturday in their Sky Bet Championship clash with Reading at Carrow Road (3pm).
The City striker was initially ruled out of action for two weeks after the Hull City match with a calf strain but boss Daniel Farke revealed that he could return earlier than expected this weekend.
Speaking at his Friday pre-match press conference, Farke said: "The prediction for Nelson was two weeks of rehab but he has looked much better this week.
"He did an individual session yesterday and today did a big part in the team programme. We will see how he reacts and speak to the doctors.
"He could be an option for a short-term appearance on the bench tomorrow."
Christoph Zimmermann played 50 minutes in the midweek draw with Barnsley despite struggling with illness and the German is still available for selection this weekend.
"Christoph is tricky. He was nearly dead after the last game! The 50 minutes of load didn't help him," Farke continued.
"Today's he much better though and he will be in the squad. The 50 minutes were not good for his recreation but he's available and in the squad. After the international break, he will be totally fit again."
Harrison Reed has also been suffering from illness but he has made a full recovery and is available for Saturday.
However, Alex Tettey has failed to recover from an injury picked up in midweek.
"After the last game, we had a big concern with Alex Tettey. It looks much better today in general but it was an unlucky situation. There's nothing broken but he will be available after the international break. He lost a lot of blood, and the foot is just swollen."
Farke also delivered updates on absentees Marco Stiepermann, Moritz Leitner, Tom Trybull, Matt Jarvis and Louis Thompson.
"Marco Stiepermann will return after the international break. Moritz Leitner could return after the Fulham game. If everything works, Tom Trybull could be back for the last four games.
"With Matt Jarvis, he had that small injury in his first game but it's what you expect after two years.
"He will return to team training during the international break. That will help him. It's important to do as much as possible with the team.
"With Louis Thompson, there's still a chance to play for the Under-23s before end of season. I don't think he will be a topic for us this season though."
