City’s new First Team Coach Christopher John said he is delighted to be at Norwich and has already settled into the team.
John joined the Canaries earlier this month and saw Norwich in action at Carrow Road for the first time during their electric 4-3 win over Millwall ahead of the international break.
He previously worked as assistant coach of German second-tier club Paderborn’s Under-23s.
John said: “It has been very exciting and everyone has been happy and kind to me, so I feel very happy to be here.
“For the last three years I was co-trainer for Paderborn’s Under-23 team. I was responsible for the video analysis as well and I have played football my whole life.
“The lads here are a little bit older than my lads in Germany because it was an Under-23s team, but everyone has been fantastic to me, so it hasn’t felt like a big difference.
“At Norwich I’m responsible for the video analysis of our opponents and the analysis of our games as well.”
John played under City Head Coach Daniel Farke when he was in charge at SV Lippstadt, and said it was nice to see a familiar face again.
“I have known Daniel for 10 years and I played at Lippstadt under him as my trainer,” he said. “It was a really good time and I learnt a lot from him, so I am very happy to work with him at Norwich.”
John was part of the team who travelled to Tampa Bay for a week-long warm weather training camp and he said the trip was the perfect opportunity to get to know the rest of the team.
“The week was very important for me because I got to know the boys a bit better and it was very good to spend time together,” he said.
“I haven’t seen much of Norwich yet because my days have been very full, but what I have seen looks very nice and I like it here.”
He will be back on the road again for City’s away match against Swansea on Saturday.
“I’m really excited about the match against Swansea. I think it will be a hard match, but I think we have a good chance,” said John.
“The first match I watched Norwich was incredible for me. To have such a result and such an ending was great. I felt many emotions and it was really nice to be there.”
