Daniel Farke said his City side will have to be at their best as they take on Rotherham United at Carrow Road on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
The Canaries drew 0-0 against Hull City last time out in tough and testing conditions, and Farke believes Saturday’s visitors will try to frustrate City in the same way.
Farke said: “I expect a similar behaviour from our opponents tomorrow. Hull concentrated on protecting their own goal and it was tricky because of the conditions, it was also the second long away game in a few days.
“I’m sure Rotherham will make it difficult for us by protecting their goal and defending in the centre and that’s what we have to face tomorrow but that’s a topic we have talked about.”
Despite drawing against Hull, City stretched their unbeaten run to seven games and Farke said there is a positive mood around the camp.
“The mood is good, we know that we have to fight for each and every point in this league, and we know we are still in good shape,” said the City boss.
“It’s important that we go further on disciplined and concentrated to be successful and that’s what we will be trying to do tomorrow.
“Each and every match is a good opportunity to protect and improve our position in the league and to improve the whole atmosphere, but each game is difficult.”
With City currently at the top of the table, Farke said every side they face will be even more desperate to beat them.
“Everyone is extra motivated [when you are top of the league] but that’s what you have to face when you are in a good league position,” he said.
“We prefer to be in this position rather than in a much worse positon where we have to struggle in games and fight against relegation, but we have to handle the pressure.”
Both teams are on good form which Farke said will make for a difficult game, but he believes his team have what it takes to win all three points.
“Rotherham are full of confidence as they have been used to winning after getting promoted last season, and they have kept their rhythm and their big fighting will into this season.
“We know we are on a decent run as well though and are in very good shape; we want to be successful, as it will be a tough task and will have to be at our best in order to win the points.”
