Meet the opposition

Brentford come into the game against City having lost both games since Thomas Frank, who was appointed as Brentford manager in the international break, replaced Dean Smith in the dugout.

The loss against Preston North End on Wednesday meant they fell to 15th in the Sky Bet Championship table, six points behind the Canaries who sit sixth going into this weekend’s fixtures.

Neal Maupay has been Brentford’s main attacking source so far this season, scoring 11 goals in 12 games making him the league’s top goal scorer.

Frank’s side are playing their fourth consecutive season in the Championship, after promotion from League One in 2014. They are yet to finish lower than 10th place in the second tier so far since their promotion.

Last time City played against Brentford at Carrow Road was in December, 2017. City lost 2-1 that day, however, a certain Jamal Lewis made his senior debut for the club, replacing Marco Stiepermann in the 67th minute.
