Daniel Farke: Derby will be a tough test

2 October 2018

Daniel Farke is expecting a tough test against Derby County but believes it’s important to “focus on our game” if they are to carry on their unbeaten run.

City visit Pride Park on Wednesday to take on Derby, who are one-point behind Norwich however, the City boss believes it will be a tough test for the Canaries.

“I think it’s important that we focus on our game and our process,” said Farke. “We have to focus on the basic stuff we have to do.

“The way they [Derby County] play is pretty creative, so it’s a big compliment to Frank Lampard.”

The City boss highlighted the quality of Derby’s younger players, and believes they have some exceptional attacking players within their ranks.

“I think they have a good balance of experienced championship players, but also some really good exciting young players," he continued.

“Their individual quality, especially going forward is unbelievably high; they have so many options in the attacking positions.”

With City in good form, Farke believes his players will have to learn to handle the pressure.

“When you are successful, having good performances and in a good league position, then it means automatically everyone is expecting more of you which puts pressure on you.

“In order to become a Premier League player you have to learn to handle this.”
