City striker Teemu Pukki got the winning goal once again for Finland in their 1-0 victory over Estonia in the UEFA Nations League on Friday night.
Despite dominating possession throughout the game, Finland had to wait until the 92nd minute to secure their victory with a strike from Pukki, helping his team to their third consecutive Nations League win.
The Finn also scored the matchwinners in Finland’s 1-0 victories over both Hungary and Estonia last month, putting his team top of their group.
Elsewhere, Jamal Lewis played the full 90 minutes for Northern Ireland in their 1-0 defeat to Austria. After ending the first half goalless, Northern Ireland had a few close chances after the break, the best coming from captain Steven Davis.
However Austria replied in the 71st minute with a goal from Marko Arnautovic as he got behind the defence and calmly slotted the ball past Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Michael McGovern was an unused substitute for Northern Ireland, while Timm Klose was an unused substitute in Switzerland’s 2-1 defeat to Belgium.
And Adam Idah played for the Republic of Ireland Under-19s squad in their 3-0 win over the Faroe Islands on Saturday.
Troy Parrott scored the first goal of the game from the penalty spot to give Ireland the lead, after Ali Reghba was fouled in the box. Parrott’s second goal came just 10 minutes later, before he made it a hat-trick in stoppage time with another goal from the penalty spot.
