Norwich City’s Principal Club Partner LeoVegas has announced that it will use tonight’s Carabao Cup match against Bournemouth to actively promote the importance of responsible gaming, through displaying LeoSafePlay on the Canaries shirt.
Noel Zammit, Head of Customer Service and Responsible Gaming, said: “LeoSafePlay, celebrating its one-year anniversary this month, is LeoVegas’ dedicated Responsible Gaming platform.
“It includes information about the risks associated with gambling and suggests measures which may be taken to mitigate these risks. We also offer support to those customers on whom gambling has had a negative effect through our LeoCare program, which offers free 12-month Gamban subscriptions as well as the partial sponsorship of therapy sessions.”
Ahead of Responsible Gambling week (#RGWeek18), which takes place from November 1 to November 7 under the slogan ‘Let’s Talk about Responsible Gambling’, LeoVegas have joined forces with Norwich City to highlight its support of the campaign.
“LeoVegas has invested heavily in employee training on the topic and sought external help from trained professionals to improve and refine existing procedures related to responsible gaming,” Zammit added.
“LeoVegas has also prioritised the development of more tools, such as a predictive model based on machine learning, which we use to identify problematic signs in customer behaviour as early as possible.”
Norwich City Chief Operating Officer, Ben Kensell, said: “We are grateful to LeoVegas for making this commitment to emphasising the importance of responsible gambling, which is something I know they support all year round.
“Norwich City is also committed to offering our full support to Responsible Gambling Week.”
As a further commitment, LeoVegas and Norwich City will auction off the match-worn shirts from the Carabao Cup match against Bournemouth, with all proceeds going to BeGambleAware.
