James Husband played the full 90 minutes for Fleetwood Town as they brought Blackpool’s unbeaten run to an end on Saturday.
And it was a special moment for Fleetwood as they beat The Seasiders in the league for the first time thanks to the 3-2 win at Highbury.
An early goal from Wes Burns put Fleetwood in front in the fourth minute, with a second coming from Ross Wallace just moments later. However Jordan Thompson got a goal back for Blackpool towards the end of the first half. Fleetwood substitute Paddy Madden then netted his sixth of the season in the 57th minute, with a quick reply coming from Blackpool’s Nathan Delfouneso to end the game 3-2.
Blackpool were forced to finish with 10-men after Armand Gnanduillet was sent off following an incident with Husband, while Fleetwood coach Clint Hill was sent off from the dug out after picking up a yellow card.
In the Championship, Remi Matthews was an unused substitute for Bolton Wanderers in their 1-0 defeat to Hull, with Yanic Wildschut also not included in the side. And Sean Raggett was not involved for Rotherham as he remains out with an injury.
In League Two, Tristan Abrahams came on as a 65th minute substitute for Exeter City as they lost 2-1 to Forest Green Rovers. The goals all came in the second half, with Reece Brown and Liam Shephard scoring for the Rovers and Aaron Martin pulling back a goal in stoppage time.
In Scotland, Steven Naismith limped off the pitch after seven minutes with a leg problem during Hearts’ Scottish League Cup semi-final match on Sunday. Hearts went on to lose the game 3-0 to Celtic who will now face Aberdeen in the final.
Mason Bloomfield was not included in Hamilton Academical’s side in their 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock.
Elsewhere, Marcel Franke played the full 90 minutes for Darmstadt in the German second division as they beat Furth 2-0. Savvas Mourgos was not included in FC Dordrecht’s side in their 2-2 draw with Jong PSV on Friday.
