City midfielder Tom Trybull said the team is full of confidence after back-to-back wins, with players hungry to pick up more points at the weekend.
Trybull, who last helped Norwich to victory in their 4-3 win over Wycombe Wanderers in the Carabao Cup, said it was a great feeling to be back on the pitch in front of the home fans as Norwich beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the Sky Bet Championship.
Speaking following a signing session at Jarrold Intersport in Norwich today, Trybull said: “I woke up with a smile on my face this morning like every other player. It was a good win, an important win for the team and we’ve got to keep going.
“I’m also happy for the fans that we won a home game after the Stoke game which we lost, so it was important to win at home.
“I have missed playing a lot because the lads have been doing a good job, so I had to wait for my chance, and I totally enjoyed yesterday. I haven’t been involved that much in the last games, but sometimes it is like this in football and you have to accept that. But I want to help the team as much as possible to reach our goals.”
And Trybull said there is a great feeling of togetherness within the team at the moment.
“The whole squad is very close to each other," he said. "Everyone is very hungry to get a chance and also in the training sessions there is lots of competition and everybody wants to play. But we are also like a big family, and I hope we keep going with this atmosphere off the pitch too.”
And looking ahead to City’s next home game against Brentford on Saturday, Trybull said the team are in a good position going into the match.
“I think the self-confidence was already there before this win, but it’s good to go into the next game with this feeling," he said. "We are strong at the moment and we know we won the game before, so everyone is looking forward to Saturday and hopefully we will get a good result at home again."
