Meet the opposition

Wigan bounced back from relegation from the Championship two seasons ago at the first attempt last year by winning the 2017-18 League One title.

The Latics recorded 98 points from their 46 matches, beating Blackburn Rovers to the summit by two points.

Managed by former City midfielder Paul Cook, they have started impressively back in the Championship and are currently fifth after nine matches.

Last time out, Wigan picked up their third win in four matches with a 1-0 home victory over Bristol City on Friday night, thanks to a second-half header Nick Powell.
