Teemu Pukki said his team’s 1-0 win over Middlesbrough was well deserved after a strong performance from the Canaries.
Middlesbrough went into the game unbeaten in the Sky Bet Championship, but a second-half strike from Pukki was enough to secure City three points.
He said: “We created some chances and it was a pretty ugly goal but it was an important goal to get the points.
“We are happy with the three points and I think we totally deserved to win today. It was a good game from us.”
Pukki’s goal was his fourth for City in the last five games at Carrow Road.
He said: “It feels like home here already. It has been a good place for me, I’ve got some goals here and it is always nice to play in front of our fans.”
Pukki scored in both of Finland’s UEFA Nations League matches during international break, and played 84 minutes for the Canaries today.
“It was a really good week with Finland and we got some good wins and good goals so I came with confidence and it was easy to come back here,” said Pukki. “Of course I was a bit tired and I couldn’t play the whole game, but it was easy to join the guys and it is easy to play with them.”
And Pukki says his team will take their confidence from the win into next week’s away matches against Reading and Queens Park Rangers.
He said: “It hasn’t been the easiest start for us and it is important to get a win before those away games which are always a bit harder than playing at home, so I think this will give us confidence for those games.”
