Norwich City is delighted to announce the 2018/19 Fan of the Season winner is Jacob Bowles.
The 24-year-old, who has been a home and away season ticket holder since 2010, was nominated for his great work supporting Norwich City’s Community Sports Foundation, raising around £3,000 for the charity to date through his ‘On the Stall City’ pop-up shop at Norwich Market.
City fans voted in their thousands for the award, with Jacob in first place followed by Lee Clark, known as the Farke Knight, in second and superfan Ronnie Moulton, who has been a Canaries supporter for almost six decades, in third place.
On hearing he had won, Jacob said: “It feels very good and I am very proud. I feel over the moon. I couldn’t get over the fact that I had been nominated, it was a really big surprise.”
Jacob, who is on the autistic spectrum, travels to games with his parents Sharon and Andy and knows everything worth knowing about the Club and its history.
“It’s a really good Club to follow,” said Jacob. “We have a great team and great supporters.”
Jacob decided to set up ‘On The Stall City’ to combine his love of football with talking to other fans, selling second-hand shirts, match programmes, pin badges, signed books and more from his own collection, with supporters also donating items for him to sell.
Jacob said: “It has really helped my confidence and given me a lift. I speak to a lot of people on the stall about their day and the football and it is very interesting selling programmes, stickers and badges. It’s all raising money and it’s a really good thing to do.
“The fans have really got behind me and helped. It’s really encouraging. I want to keep it going and continue to raise lots of money.”
As well as the stall, Jacob also has his own On The Ball City Blog, where he has uploaded videos from every home and away game this season as well as the pre-season tour in Germany and the Club’s trip to Tampa last November.
As Norwich’s Fan of the Season, Jacob has won two general admission season tickets for the 2019/20 season, which he has kindly decided to donate the Community Sports Foundation.
