Norwich City is delighted to announce details of a civic reception and parade to celebrate promotion to the Premier League.
The event, due to be held on Monday, May 6, ahead of the Wesley Hoolahan and Russell Martin celebration match at Carrow Road, will include an open-top bus parade and player interviews on the balcony at City Hall.
The day will kick-off at 9am at City Hall where thousands of Canary fans are expected to gather to hear from the players and coaching staff.
Interviews will be conducted on the balcony by Community Sports Foundation trustee and broadcaster Jake Humphrey from 9.30am to 10.30am, with players and staff then climbing aboard the bus for the parade at 11am.
The route will start on Theatre Street, before turning down Red Lion Street, Upper King Street and Tombland, ending at Palace Street at around 12.15pm.
Supporters are then encouraged to head to the stadium for the ‘Team Wes’ v ‘Team Russ’ match, which kicks-off at 3pm.
Half an hour before the whistle, the First Team squad will also complete a final lap of appreciation around the pitch.
Ben Kensell, City’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “As it's a bank holiday it gives all of our fans the opportunity to come along to celebrate and we will be taking over the city with our parade.
“There will be player interviews, lots of celebrations and memory making and then the parade will go through the city and culminate at Carrow Road where the Wes and Russ game will take place.
“It will be a great day of celebration for the city, for the players, staff, the Board and everyone connected to Norwich City Football Club because it’s an amazing achievement and it’s the culmination of a lot of hard work.”
In order for the parade to take place, the following road closures will be in place:
6am – 1pm Bethel Street

8am – 1pm Agricultural Hall Plain
