City’s Under-23s will be travelling to Staplewood Training Ground to take on Southampton in the Premier League 2 tonight, April 5 (kick-off 7pm).
The team were last in action at the start of March when they came from behind to draw 2-2 with Stoke City at Colney, with a late brace from Adam Idah.
After the first half ended goalless, both teams came out fighting with Stoke taking the lead with gaols from Jacob Twyford and Oliver Shenton leaving just 15 minutes to play. However, City responded instantly with Idah tucking home a penalty before getting the equaliser two minutes later with a curling effort from the edge of the area.
And during last month's international break, Idah got on the scoresheet again as he made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s, netting twice in their victory over Luxembourg.
David Wright’s team will be looking to pick up where they left off ahead of the break, having held Stoke to a draw on March 11 after beating Manchester United 2-1 away from home on March 1.
Last time out Southampton's Under-23s lost 3-1 away from home to Wolves, following a 2-1 win over Villarreal CF in the Premier League International Cup.
