Under-23s match preview: Fulham v Norwich City

24 April 2019

Norwich City’s Under-23s are set to play their final game of the 2018-19 season against Fulham at Motspur Park in the Premier League 2 on Friday (7pm kick-off).

The team were last in action on March 12 at Carrow Road when they faced Middlesbrough in their last home game of the season – narrowly losing 3-2 despite a spirited second-half which manager David Wright hailed as one of their best of the season.

The Canaries went into the break two-goals down with goals from Tyrone O’Neill and Dan Ward proving to be the difference at the break. Ward extended the visitors' lead minutes after the re-start but Norwich came back fighting.

Isak Thorvaldsson found the net before Josh Coley’s first goal for the Club, resulting in a tense last 10 minutes, but City were unable to find that equalising goal.

Wright’s side took on the Cottagers at Carrow Road back in October, with Fulham running away 4-0 winners that day. A brace from Cameron Thompson accompanied goals from Matt O’Riley and Cody Drameh.

City face a Fulham side who are without a home league win since November when they beat Sunderland 2-0 at Motspur Park. The Cottagers go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw against 12th placed Sunderland, stretching their winless run to seven league games.
