Christoph Zimmermann has shown his support for the Club’s official charity partner the Community Sports Foundation ahead of Saturday’s Community Day at Carrow Road.
The Canaries defender visited Carrow Park to spend some time with various Foundation participants, before helping to highlight the ‘Bring a Pound to the Ground’ campaign, which encourages fans attending Saturday’s match to bring a pound to donate to the Community Sports Foundation.
"I'm here [at Carrow Park] quite regularly because I enjoy what the Community Sports Foundation does," said Zimmermann.
"I like to support all their activities because they do an outstanding job for the whole community of Norwich.
"Community Day will give a bit more awareness and attention to what is being done and any donations will help the Foundation. I'm happy that we are dedicating Saturday to CSF and I hope we can help deliver a positive result as well on the pitch as well.”
The Community Day is an opportunity for fans to get behind the Foundation’s work, which includes supporting people with disabilities and their families, and improving skills and raising aspirations for people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Many of the Foundation’s programmes rely on funding, and fundraising from a number of activities such as Saturday’s ground collection.
Christoph and the rest of the 25-man playing squad are making their own donations to the Foundation as part of the Community Day celebrations.
