Daniel Farke admits he will make changes for Tuesday night's Carabao Cup Round Two trip to Crawley Town.
City go into the match off the back of a 3-2 defeat to Chelsea on Saturday and the Head Coach says a number of players need a rest ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to West Ham United.
"We have to make changes," he said at his pre-match press conference on Bank Holiday Monday.
"The Cup has the same priority as league games but we need to rest some players. I trust all my players, it's a quick turnaround so it's important to bring some recreated players onto the pitch.
"The mental and physical load against Chelsea was difficult. I'm not a big believer in too many changes. It's not healthy to make too many changes. But I will make more than two or three changes."
One of these changes could see Christoph Zimmermann make his first appearance of the season, despite Farke admitting it could be too soon for the German centre-back.
"I think it would be a bit too soon for Christoph Zimmermann but he trained yesterday and today also. It's a quick turnaround and has been out for a long time. If Christoph can handle the load today, he will travel with us. He could play some minutes.
Other players who could feature tomorrow at Crawley include Patrick Roberts, Adam Idah, Ralf Fährmann and Ibrahim Amadou.
However the game will come too soon for Josip Drmic is is still recovering from a hamstring injury.
