Ant Spyrou has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January.
The 19-year-old featured in both of City’s PL2 games throughout the month, with City losing against Reading before beating Aston Villa 2-1 at Colney Training Centre.
In those games, Spyrou scored a brace in City’s 4-3 loss against the Royals, and was on the scoresheet again later that week scoring the winner against Villa after some fantastic link-up play with Adam Idah.
He also netted in City’s 1-1 Premier League International Cup draw over Spurs on January 18, taking his tally to four in all competitions throughout the month.
The City striker is up against Thibaud Verlinden (Stoke City), Kazaiah Sterling (Tottenham Hotspur) and Jahmal Hector-Ingram (West Ham United).
The shortlist is decided by the Premier League's Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opposing player in each of their league matches last month.
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday, February 8 at 11am.
