Norwich City’s Mario Vrancic is set to be side-lined for three weeks after suffering an ankle injury in the first half against Ipswich on Sunday.
“Mario Vrancic has an ankle ligament injury,” said Daniel Farke. “Thank god he doesn’t need any surgery because I was really concerned at the time.
“He will be out for just three weeks, so will miss the next three or four games. Mario will be a big miss for us because lately he has been there with some important goals and assists.”
Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia also picked up slight knocks to their ankle on Sunday, but both are available for Wednesday’s game against Preston North End.
“Todd Cantwell got a slight knock in the later stages of the game, but I think he will be available for Preston and then again for Bolton. Todd got an injury against his ankle, it was pretty painful but it was more of a dead leg.”
“Emi Buendia is used to this, in the last few weeks it has been that he has had several tackles on his ankle, but I was more concerned about the chest high tackles.”
Timm Klose and Moritz Leitner have both returned to team training, and will be travelling with the squad to Preston but the game will come too soon for the pair.
“We have Timm Klose and Mo Lietner still out with injuries, and Carlton Morris and Louis Thompson with long term injuries.
“They will travel with us with the whole group of players as we are staying in Preston because we have two games [Preston North End and Bolton Wanderers] in three and a half days.
“Moritz [Leitner] is training with the team but is not 100% in the duels. Timm [Klose] came back in team training yesterday, but tomorrow will come too early for him."
