City legend Iwan Roberts is taking over the matchday programme for next week’s clash against Ipswich Town
A special, bumper 116-page OTBC will be a one-off £4 for the game, and we are delighted to announce that £1 from every programme sale will go directly to the fan-driven crowdfunder to raise money for more flags and banners inside Carrow Road. The campaign has been led by local fan groups Along Come Norwich and Barclay End Norwich.
You can pre-order the programme HERE.
Roberts, who scored a famous double against Town at Portman Road in March 2000, sat down with Jordan Rhodes for an exclusive interview looking ahead to the East Anglian derby and has put together several special features for the programme, with more details to be announced next week.
As well as Iwan’s takeover, there will also be a special eight-page Norwich City Legends pull-out featuring interviews with the likes of Jeremy Goss, Darren Huckerby and Bryan Gunn, with more to be revealed next week.
Every programme will also include one of six collectable exclusive player cards, all featuring a player’s signature. The players, all derby day heroes, will also be revealed next week.
Along Come Norwich and Barclay End Norwich’s crowdfunder has raised over £8,000 so far, with all of the money helping them to keep Carrow Road decked out in banners and flags.
“Everyone at the Club has been blown away by the efforts of Along Come Norwich and Barclay End Norwich to get Carrow Road looking amazing this season,” says Ben Kensell, Norwich City’s Chief Operating Officer. “Organically it’s gone from strength to strength, and the backing for the crowdfunder by hundreds of Norwich fans has been fantastic to see.
“We’re delighted to be able to contribute to the fund through £1 from every programme sale against Ipswich, and we hope everyone coming to the game will support the fan groups in their efforts.”
Jon Punt, from Along Come Norwich, said: “We’re thrilled the Club have offered us this chance to grow the funds already raised from the crowdfunder we started last summer, which we’ve used to bring more vibrancy and colour to the Barclay End as the season has gone on.
“As supporter groups we’re really keen that any revenue we generate is from supporters who want to get involved or help us, so that the pre-match visual displays in the stands are paid by the fans, for the fans. The idea of diverting some of the programme sales in this way fits nicely with that ethos.
“Our aim is to continue the work we’ve started, and as a minimum have the full Lower Barclay End covered in a sea of flags and scarves. The additional money from the programme sales will help us realise this ambition quicker than we could have hoped. A big thank you to those at the Club who have made this happen.”
ACN and BEN have also organised another march ahead of the Ipswich game, which you can read about HERE.
You can also order limited edition ‘All Together Now’ scarves for just £5 online HERE, and they will also be available to purchase at all of the usual places. £1 of every sale will also go to the crowdfunder!
