Yanic Wildschut and Matt Jarvis both featured for their respective clubs in Bolton Wanderers’ 5-2 win over Walsall in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
Wildschut played the first 45 minutes for Bolton, who went into half-time a goal down after Andy Cook headed in a Jarvis cross for Walsall. But Wanderers responded with close-range finishes from Clayton Donaldson and Josh Magennis, while Jon Guthrie’s own goal made it 3-1. Two further Magennis goals wrapped up the win after Bolton’s Mark Beevers scored an own goal to make it 5-2.
Jarvis made his first appearance for Walsall since joining them on loan, playing 70 minutes for the League One side.
James Husband was an unused substitute for Fleetwood in their 3-2 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup.
Sean Raggett came on as a 74th minute substitute for Rotherham in their 7-0 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, also in the cup.
Mason Bloomfield made his debut appearance for AFC Fylde after joining on loan last week. He came on in the 46th minute as his side were 2-1 down to Bromley in the National League and got an assist for Arthur Gnahoua’s second half goal. However, JJ Hooper strode forward with nine minutes remaining to get the winner and end the game 3-2.
Ahead of the final whistle, Bloomfield suffered an awkward fall in the box and had to be stretchered off the pitch for treatment for what was believed to be a compound fracture to his forearm.
Under-23s goalkeeper Billy Johnson also made his debut for Lowestoft Town, joining the Trawlerboys for a month until February 2. They lost 2-0 to Suffolk rivals Needham Market at the Amber Dew Events Stadium in the Evo-Stik Premier Division Central League.
Caleb Richards started for FC United of Manchester in their 2-0 defeat to a 10-man Chester in the National League North. He was substituted off in the 82nd minute for Salou Jallow.
And Devonte Aransibia played the full 90 minutes for Billericay Town in their 3-2 win over Weston-super-Mare in the National League South.
