Adam Idah scored twice as Norwich City defeated German fourth-tier side Bonner SC 4-1 in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday evening.
The Canaries dominated for most of the encounter and deservedly led 2-1 at the break after Idah's brace had cancelled out an equaliser from Patrick Schikowski.
Onel Hernandez added to City's lead in the second-half, turning home debutant Sam Byram's cross, with Teemu Pukki adding a late fourth as City recorded their first win of pre-season after the draw with Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday.
Bonner SC made a fast start. Jan Holldack fired straight at Michael McGovern inside two minutes before Schikowski brust into the box and fired wide from a tight angle.
But it was City who took the lead in the ninth minute – Patrick Roberts moved the ball inside to Idah who took a touch and fired emphatically past Jens Fikisi.
City started to dominate, with Marco Stiepermann being denied on 24 minutes by a powerful Fikisi stop. The process occurred on 32 minutes but Fikisi spilled the shot, allowing Leitner to tap home. However, the linesman had his flag up for offside.
Shortly after Onel Hernandez had a low drive blocked by Fikisi legs, Bonner went up the other end to equaliser when Schikowski broke the offside trap and coolly dispatched past McoGovern.
However, City responded within three minutes with a sweeping team move. A pass out wide was dummied by Srbeny, allowing room for Philip Heise to cross. He duly obliged, with Idah getting across his marker and guiding a deft flick into the far corner for his second of the game.
Farke introduced Todd Cantwell and new signing Sam Byram at half-time, with Ralf Fährmann also entering the fray.
Byram was into the thick of the action after being fed down the right-hand side. His low cross was diverted towards goal on 57 minutes by Srbeny but his header was blocked and Hernandez was unable to turn home.
Roberts then had two good openings in the space of three minutes just after the hour mark, but on both occasions he failed to add to City’s advantage.
Schikowski almost doubled his tally on 67 minutes, shooting wide after being found in the area and City punished his miss on moments later, Byram beating his man down the right and crossing low for Hernandez to finish at the back post.
Pukki added to City’s lead on 79 minutes, just four minutes after coming on as a substitute, profiting from a ricochet after fellow sub Emi Buendia’s initial shot had deflected into his path.
