Norwich City are delighted to announce that Todd Cantwell has signed a new contract with the Club until 2022.
Cantwell, 21, came through the Canaries' Academy system and made his first-team debut in the FA Cup third round replay defeat to Chelsea in January 2018.
He then moved out on loan for a successful four-month spell at Dutch side Fortuna Sittard, helping them clinch promotion to the Eredivisie at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
The Dereham-born youngster then returned to Carrow Road and made 24 appearances in all competitions last season as the Club won the Sky Bet Championship title.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk, Cantwell said: "It’s brilliant and nice to have got it done and out of the way. I can really kick on now and show what I’m about.
"I’m hoping to secure my place in the starting eleven this season, there are a lot of good players here and healthy competition but I need to believe in what I can do and bring to the team.
"I’m really looking forward to showing not only the fans and the team but also show the Premier League what I can do.
"It’s a big league to play in and I’ve always wanted to play in it as a kid so I’m not going to hold back on that front."
Cantwell recently returned back to Colney Training Centre as Daniel Farke's side began their preparations for the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.
"I’m buzzing to be back, we left last season with such a buzz around the place and everyone has come back with the same mentality. I’m really looking forward to getting started. Ben [Godfrey] and Jamal [Lewis] were out in Dubai at the same time as me so it was nice to bump into them.
"I think you spend the whole season with each other and although we all get on and are so close, it’s nice to have a break with family, friends and separate football from the personal life."
Looking ahead to the upcoming Premier League season, there is fresh excitement around the first-team group and Cantwell is relishing the big clashes ahead.
"Every game will be brilliant but the top six are amazing teams and I can’t wait to play against them all.
"It's a tough league and we know there will be challenges but I’m really looking forward to it."
