Diallang Jaiyesimi scored on his return to action on Saturday as a Norwich City XI lost 2-1 at Leyton Orient in a pre-season friendly.
Jaiyesimi missed most of last season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament whilst on loan at Yeovil Town.
The City winger made a telling impact on Saturday, netting from the edge of the area after a lay-off from Isak Thorvaldsson.
Along with Jaiyesimi, it was also a positive afternoon for Savvas Mourgos who made his comeback from a similar injury.
The Greek midfielder, who will play on loan at FC Dordrecht this season, was withdrawn at half-time with Jaiyesimi.
A City XI were eventually beaten 2-1 by their League Two opponents. Jaiyesimi's goal gave them the lead at the break and they had chances to add to their advantage, however Orient responded in the second-half with goals from Lee Angol and Josh Wright.
