Jeremy Goss and Darren Huckerby announced as Club Ambassadors

4 June 2019

Norwich City are delighted to confirm four Club legends as our Ambassadors for the upcoming 2019-20 Premier League season.

Jeremy Goss and Darren Huckerby will be taking up new ambassadorial roles, with Grant Holt and Adam Drury set to continue their superb work over the past couple of seasons.

Goss played for the Club between 1983 and 1996, making 188 appearances and scoring 14 goals from midfield.

He scored some of the most iconic goals in the Club’s history, including scoring twice in the two-legged UEFA Cup victory over Bayern Munich in 1993.

Huckerby was at City between 2003 and 2008, picking up the Barry Butler Memorial Trophy twice. He scored 48 goals in 203 appearances during his time at Carrow Road.

Chief Operating Officer Ben Kensell said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming back both Jeremy and Darren as Club Ambassadors. It’s great to have them joining Grant and Adam and we have a true team of legends off the pitch to help us deliver matchdays and non matchday events.

“Their service on and off the pitch to Norwich City over the years has seen them all become much-loved with the supporters and staff here. Darren will host the Gunn Club on matchdays with Jeremy taking part in many club events over the season.

“We have worked very hard over the past few seasons to enhance the relationships we have with former players. Following on from the successes of the Norwich City Legends v Inter Forever match last year and the Team Wes v Team Russ celebration game earlier this month, the strength of the bond between the Club and it’s most iconic players has never been stronger and we look forward to improving the relationships we’ve forged in the years ahead.”

Former City striker Holt joined the Club in 2009 from Shrewsbury and scored 78 goals in four seasons at Carrow Road, including 53 in the two campaigns when City climbed from League One to the Premier League.

Drury moved to the Canaries in 2000 and made 361 appearances for the Club across 12 years and three divisions, scoring four goals.

Kensell added: “All four are real legends of this football club and look out for events featuring them all, along with matchday appearances and interviews in our matchday programmes and on social channels throughout the season."
