14 June 2019

Norwich City are pleased to confirm that we have accepted an invitation from the English Football League (EFL) to participate in the 2019-20 edition of the EFL Trophy.

City are among 16 category one academies in English football to enter an Under-21s side and they'll be joined by the 48 clubs in League One and League Two in this year's competition.

Along with the Canaries, the following Under-21s sides will compete in the EFL Trophy this season:

Arsenal
Aston Villa
Brighton and Hove Albion
Chelsea
Everton
Fulham
Leicester City
Liverpool
Manchester City
Manchester United
Newcastle United
Southampton
Tottenham Hotspur
West Ham United
Wolverhampton Wanderers

Last season's competition was won by Portsmouth after they beat Sunderland in the final at Wembley Stadium in March.

The Canaries were last in the competition back in 2016 when they were knocked out in the second round by Swansea City.

The Round One Group Stage draw will take place in July, with the first round of fixtures scheduled to take place week commencing Monday 2 September.
