Norwich City’s Under-18s are up against U18 Premier League high-flyers Chelsea on Saturday at Colney Training Centre (11am).
Paul Williams side lost 3-0 last time they played, falling to defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at Colney before the international break which meant they remained in 11th place in the league table.
Four players who are eligible to play for the Under-18s were in action during the break with Andrew Omobamidele and Josh Giurgi featuring for the Republic of Ireland Under-17s, Anis Mehmeti in action for Albania’s Under-19s and Adam Idah who featured for Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s, with all of these players returning during the week.
The Canaries are up against a Chelsea side placed third in the league, but come into the game on the back of their first home defeat of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion. Ben Wilson netted in the 93rd minute to give Brighton the three points.
City’s clash with Chelsea rounds off a month of tough fixtures for the Canaries, which will have seen them play the top three sides in the Under-18s Premier League in their four games played throughout March. The only match not coming against any of the top three saw City ease past Aston Villa with a convincing 5-0 victory.
