Timm Klose believes exciting times lie ahead for Norwich City after their incredible title-winning season of 2018-19.
The commanding centre-back put pen to paper on a new three-year contract on Monday, extending his stay at Carrow Road until 2022.
Klose joined the Club in January 2016 but couldn’t help them avoid relegation from the Premier League at the end of the season.
After three seasons in the Championship, he’s now looking forward to being part of a bright future for the Canaries back in the top flight.
Klose said: “When I came to Norwich, I had no expectations because I knew it was going to be half a year and then we were going to watch what was going to happen from there.
“Summer came, we went down and I had some offers to leave the Club but I turned them down and tried to get the team back up.
“I struggled a lot in the first Championship year. It was hard but I’ve fought my way back and I’m so happy to have gone through all the ups and downs.
“I’ve spoken to Russ [Martin] and Wes [Hoolahan] and the boys who have been here a long time and I’ve learned from them two about how difficult it can be but also how positive it can be if you bring back that positivity and bring back that love for football.
“I always talk about everyone sticking together in the same boat. This season was just fantastic how everyone stuck together, it’s lovely to see what we’ve achieved.”
Klose says it’s vital that City continue to be fearless in their approach to games, despite being in a much tougher league next year.
“We have nothing to lose,” he continued. “We can go up there and prove we can compete with the best. We can go there with a good mix of players and show that we can play against them and win the games.
“We don’t need to go on the pitch and be nervous. You don’t win games like that. We have to go out and enjoy every minute.
“There will be difficult periods, especially next season but you have go through them and it builds character and a personality.
“We have to be confident and have the pride in ourselves to perform and win games for this Club.”
