Coming up this month: City’s November schedule

1 November 2019

It’s going to be another busy month for Norwich City’s first team and Academy teams either side of the November international break.

Get the lowdown on what is scheduled for the first team and Academy squads in the coming weeks below…

Premier League

A long-awaited return to winning ways could come as early as this weekend as City’s first team travel to Brighton & Hove Albion for the first ever Premier League meeting between the two sides.

Historically, Norwich have a favourable head to head record against Brighton, and you can find out more about Saturday’s opposition in our Match Preview.

Less than one week later, we’re back at Carrow Road for Friday night’s game against Watford under the lights.

It’s an 8pm kick-off against the only team below City in the table at the time of writing, so it should be a tasty prospect.

Following the international break, a trip to Merseyside beckons as City take on Everton at Goodison Park to wrap up November’s Premier League schedule.

Premier League 2 Division 2

Our Under-23s team also have a couple of games lined up for this month, starting today as they face Fulham at the Lotus Training Centre. Fulham are one place and four points above City in the league, so a win would go a long way to closing that gap.

Then, on Monday, 25 November, City travel to Reading to face their Under-23s side, who have had an average start to the season with three wins, one draw and five defeats in the league.

Under-18s Premier League South

The Under-18s are going to be very busy this month, as they have four matches with plenty of points to play for in November.

They travel to Fulham tomorrow in a real David vs Goliath fixture. Fulham’s Under-18s are currently top of the league having won seven out of their eight opening games, while City are bottom with two draws and six defeats from that run of games.

One week later, City welcome Swansea City to Lotus Training Centre on Saturday, 9 November. Swansea are currently one place and two points above Norwich, so it’s set up to be a real six-pointer.

League action goes on hold on Saturday, 23 November as City are away to Everton in the Under-18s Premier League Cup. The Toffees have started the North division of the U18s Premier League well, winning five and losing two of their seven opening matches.

Finally, a trip to Reading represents the U18s final league game of November on Saturday the 30th. Reading have won two, drawn two, and lost four of their first eight games in the division.

International break

This month’s international break takes place from Monday, 11 November to Friday, 22 November. The pick of the international matches, as far as the Canaries are concerned, is Finland’s double header.

They play Liechtenstein on Friday, 15 November and Greece on Monday, 18 November, as Teemu Pukki looks to help his country qualify for the European Championships for the very first time. In fact, qualifying for Euro 2020 would represent the first time Finland qualify for any major tournament at all, so we’ll be following that one with great interest!

Keep an eye on canaries.co.uk and our social channels for all the updates on how our players are getting on over the international break.
