The Official Canaries FPL league has a new winner for the month of October.
City fan James Lane accrued a total of 201 points from Gameweeks 8-10. Congratulations, James! Keep an eye on your e-mail inbox for details on how to claim your prize.
Tammy Abraham, Sadio Mane and Lewis Dunk all returned double figures for James in GW8, while Jack Grealish and Jamie Vardy stood out for him in GW9. He then racked up an impressive 79 points from GW10 in no small part due to the captaincy of Vardy, who got 40 points on his own with a hat-trick and assist against Southampton.
It goes without saying that Norwich City’s results in October weren’t what Canaries fans had hoped for, but from an FPL perspective there were one or two surprising points-hauls in Daniel Farke’s side.
Michael McGovern’s seven saves, including one from the spot, saw him notch up nine points in GW8 despite conceding a handful of goals against Aston Villa, while Josip Drmic managed five points with his goal in the game’s dying embers.
There were of course points all across the backline for City’s goalless draw at AFC Bournemouth thanks to that clean sheet in GW9.
In GW10, it was Tim Krul who returned an impressive 16 points in the game thanks to his eight saves (of which two were penalty saves) in City’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester United. Naturally, Onel Hernandez’s goal earned him six points from his 45 minutes of action in that match.
If you’re going to invest in any of City’s assets going forward, then, it’s the defensive players who have been tallying up most the points in recent weeks.
