We are delighted to announce that Grant Holt’s brilliant autobiography A Real Football Life is now available in paperback.
Following the success of A Real Football Life since its hardback release in June, the official autobiography of the City legend is now available as a paperback for the first time, with a brand-new cover design. At just £10, it’s the perfect Christmas gift for any Canaries fan.
Published by Twocan and featuring a foreword from BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey, you can buy it HERE, as well as in our stores.
A Real Football Life tells the story of Holt’s stunning rise up nine tiers of English football. From non-league stalwart, to playing semi-pro in Australia and being an unlikely Singapore soccer star, Holt tried it all before a series of rejections made him give up football at the age of 21.
Nine years later, he was bullying Premier League defenders and scoring at Anfield, the Emirates Stadium and Stamford Bridge on his way to becoming England’s second highest scorer behind Wayne Rooney in the 2011-12 season. A match made in heaven with Norwich City propelled him from League One to the Premier League in just two seasons, and to the brink of England’s Euro 2012 squad.
His remarkable journey takes in tyre-fitting, swan attacks, pre-match meals of battered sausages and curry fried rice, fall-outs with managers, too many bookings and goals, goals, goals. An old-school striker, Holt’s rise from non-league to Premier League saw him turn out for the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, Rochdale, Shrewsbury, Aston Villa, Wolves, and Wigan, as well as a promotion-winning season with Hibernian in the Scottish Championship.
