FPL Round-Up: September winner announced

7 October 2019

The Official Canaries FPL league of almost 5,000 strong has a new winner for the month of September.

Adam Durrant’s ‘Aces’ scooped up more points than any other team in the league across Gameweeks 5-7, 241 to be exact. Congratulations, Adam! Keep an eye on your e-mail inbox for details on how to claim your prize.

Adam’s faith in the Canaries paid dividends in Gameweek 5, when Emiliano Buendia and Teemu Pukki returned big points hauls for him in City’s 3-2 win over Manchester City at Carrow Road.

Buendia’s two assists earned him 11 points and a place in the Dream Team that week, while Pukki picked up 12 through his goal and assist.

Elsewhere across the pitch, Angus Gunn, Mason Mount, and the triple captaincy of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Watford saw Adam rack up an impressive 101 points.

While he hasn’t reached triple figures since then, Gameweek 6 and 7 weren’t too shabby for Adam either, in which he earned 65 and 75 points respectively in no small part thanks to his double-up of Wolves defenders for their 2-0 win against Watford.

So which Norwich players might be worth considering going forward? Well, it goes without saying that points in the game have been hard to come by for City assets since that victory over Pep Guardiola’s side, but there are still options to consider.

Despite conceding five goals against Aston Villa on the weekend, Michael McGovern amassed nine FPL points with seven saves and one penalty save, which earned him two bonus points. Priced at £4.0m in the game, he represented incredible value for the 5.7 percent of managers who selected him!

At the opposite end of the pitch, Josip Drmic might only have played six minutes against Villa, but that was enough time for him to nab a goal and five points in FPL for his first return of the season.

Looking ahead, Buendia, Todd Cantwell and Pukki all remain the Canaries most creative options, and therefore the ones most worth considering for your FPL team. AFC Bournemouth, who Norwich face next, are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, so it could be a fruitful afternoon for City’s attackers on the south coast.
