Non-League Day takes place this Saturday, October 12, and with no weekly fix of Norwich City action, here's our guide to the best ways to enjoy Non-League football in Norfolk this weekend.
Nearest Non-League games
The nearest, most high-profile non-league game taking place this weekend is a cup match between Yelverton and Gorleston.
Yelverton are the underdogs, as they play their league games in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, while Gorleston are one division up, playing in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division.
Nevertheless, Saturday's 2.30pm kick-off is setup to a closely fought encounter, with Yelverton flying high near the top of their league, while Gorleston are struggling towards the bottom of the one above.
Carrow Road to Yelverton's Garrick Field is roughly a 15-20 minute drive.
Elsewhere in the region, Swaffham Town host Downham Town in the cup on Saturday at 3pm. Swaffham are seventh in the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division, but they face a tough test against a Downham side at the very top of the Thurlow Nunn First Division North. They've won eight of their opening eleven games in the league.
Swaffham's ground, Shoemakers Lane, is approximately a 45 minute drive from Carrow Road.
Immediately below Downham in the First Division North is Diss Town, and they welcome Matishall from the First Division, who have also started their season well, with five wins, one draw, and one defeat from their first seven games, so there should be plenty of attacking talent on display.
Diss Town play at Brewers Green Lane in Diss, roughly 45 minutes away from Carrow Road by car.
Norwich players on loan in Non-League
If you're not based in Norfolk but want to check out which Norwich City loanees will be featuring in Non-League across the weekend, these are the games to consider...
Not too far from Norwich is Soham Town Rangers in Cambridgeshire, who host Bury Town FC and City loanee Daniel Barden in a preliminary round of the FA Trophy on Saturday. Bury are second in the Non-League Division One with 17 points from eight games. Meanwhile, Soham Town Rangers are 12th in the Isthmian North division.
Another City goalkeeper out on loan is Aston Oxborough, who could feature for league-leaders Wealdstone FC in their National League South game at 12th-placed Chelmsford City on Saturday. Since last Saturday, Oxborough kept two clean sheets for Wealdstone as they beat Bristol Manor Farm across two legs of the FA Cup third qualifying round, meaning they're now just 90 minutes away from the first round proper.
Also through to the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup is Alfie Payne and King's Lynn Town FC, who welcome Chester FC in a huge game at the top of the National League North. Chester are two points behind York City in first, while King's Lynn are one point below Chester in third, so it's hard to call which way this one's going.
