Jamal Lewis' elbow injury picked up in the defeat to Crystal Palace last week is not as bad as first feared and the left-back is available for selection against Aston Villa tomorrow.
Speaking after the game at Selhurst Park, Head Coach Daniel Farke feared Lewis could have broken his elbow but he revealed at his pre-Aston Villa press conference that the injury hasn't ruled the Northern Irish international out of contention for the weekend.
Farke also confirmed that Michael McGovern will start in goal after Tim Krul (back) and Ralf Fährmann (groin) failed to recover from injuries. Farke expects U23s stopper Archie Mair to be in the squad as well.
Meanwhile, Ben Godfrey is available for selection, despite requiring surgery on a hernia problem in the international break. That means he won't play for England Under-21s in their games with Slovenia and Hungary.
However, Grant Hanley (groin) will miss the game with a groin injury and both Sam Byram (ankle) and Todd Cantwell (hamstring) are minor doubts for the visit of Dean Smith's side.
To finish his pre-match injury bulletin, Farke announced Onel Hernandez (knee) is not far away from a return to team training. The Cuban winger has a outside chance of returning for the match against Bournemouth after the international break.
